S&C Advanced Reporting Subject Areas

S&C Advanced Reporting provides views of Sales and Catering (S&C) data that can be used for analysis, planning, and forecasting within the OPERA Business Intelligence (OBI) user-interface. The S&C data is accessed directly from OPERA tables by using real-time online transactional processing (OLTP) and does not require data cubes as in typical OBI online analytical processing (OLAP). Making queries and building reports in OLTP may increase processing time.

The S&C Advanced Reporting Subject Areas appear in the OBI interface when either the OBIEE (OPB_<version number> license is active (no additional add-on license necessary); or without OBIEE, when the add-on license OPS_SAREP <version number> Advanced Reporting is active with ORO_<version number> Oracle BI SE-one User Interface license for S&C Advanced Reporting views.

Accessing S&C Advanced Reporting

In OBIEE (OPB_<version number>), select the OBI button or the S&C Advanced Reporting button on the OPERA Sign-in Screen. Once the BI interface opens, select OBI>Answers.

When the add-on license OPS_SAREP S&C <version number> S&C Advanced Reporting is active with the ORO_<version number> Oracle BI SE-One User Interface license, select the S&C Advanced Reporting button on the OPERA Sign-in Screen. Once in the BI interface, select OBI>Answers.

Subject Areas

S&C Advanced Reporting subject areas are available in two different schemas: Oracle 10g and 11g. Depending on the environment in which you are working, the subject areas may vary slightly between the two. The following tables containing columns, attributes, and measurements are identified as either pertaining to 10g or 11g.

S&C Advanced Reporting provides the following subject areas for querying and building reports:

A description of each subject area follows.

Account Statistics

This subject area contains Account Room Night and Revenue statistics broken down between Group and Individual stays and can be summarized by Property, Stay Date, Business Segment, Owner, and Profile Type. Both Local and Central currency revenue can be reported. When relationship hierarchies are used, these statistics are rolled up to the master account level with the possibility of reporting on the subsidiaries up to 10 levels deep.

The statistics are calculated from daily, monthly and yearly summary tables that are populated from reservation_stat_daily. These tables improve processing time and are directly accessed by the system when users create reports. With an upgrade from an earlier version to OPERA v5.0.04.00, these tables need to be initially populated in each property using the Synchronize Summary Profile Statistics Utility (Utilities>Synchronize Summary Profile Statistics Utility permission required). In the property, tables will be updated from reservation_stat_daily during the Night Audit. In SFA, it is necessary to configure the transfer of reservation_stat_daily from the interfaced properties. The child tables will populate only when the application parameter General>Populate Reservation Statistics Tables is set to Y. Refer to Configuring the Transfer of Data Mart reservation_stat_daily from Property to SFA.

The table profile_relationship_hier, maintains the accounts' hierarchy up to 10 levels. This table must also be populated after upgrading to OPERA v5.0.04.00 with the Synchronize Relationship Hierarchy Utility (Utilities>Synchronize Relationship Hierarchy permission required). After synchronization, this table will be populated by the Forecast Processor when the application parameter General>Populate Reservation Statistics Tables is set to Y.

Note: For optimal performance and whenever possible, when creating Account Statistics reports we suggest using the Stay Filter Stay Year or Stay Month. When the Account Statistics Report must be filtered on a Stay Date Range, the provided Account Statistics report template should be used as it combines Daily, Monthly, and Yearly tables and statistics. See Account Statistics Template for more information.

Note: If account statistic reports will be run from SFA for an interfaced property, the reservation_stat_daily table must be transferred via OXI and the application parameter General>Populate Reservation Statistics Tables must be set to Y. Refer to Configuring the Transfer of Data Mart reservation_stat_daily from Property to SFA.
